2008 Invitational Golf Tournament
The Sequoia Hospital Foundation’s Invitational Golf Tournament will be held this year on September 15, 2008 and for the first time will feature play on two exceptional courses. Tournament co-chairs Roger Winkle, M.D., Greg Engel, M.D., Gene Sullivan and Greg Kemist invite you to join them for a fantastic day of golf among friends.
Our tournament will be held not only at the prestigious course at Sharon Heights, the host of our sold-out tournament for many years, but this year we are also proud to expand our tournament to the exclusive course at Stanford University. On a first-come-first-served basis, teams of foursomes will be able to register for the course of their choice. Individual golfers may indicate their preference, and will be assigned to courses and teams based on availability.
After their 18-holes, all golfers are invited to join us at Sharon Heights for cocktails, dinner and the presentation of tournament winners.
2008 Black Tie Gala
Black Tie Gala chairs Sue Burns, Kris Sullivan and Diane Chesler are returning this year with exciting changes for the Sequoia Hospital Foundation’s 2008 Ball. We are proud to announce this year’s event, to be held on the elegant Club Level at AT&T Park in San Francisco on October 25, 2008.
After many wonderful years on the Peninsula, our annual event has grown into a truly special evening and now we are proud to bring it to the next level. This new venue will be an ideal location for our elegant event that will begin with cocktails and a fabulous silent auction before dinner and our annual live auction. The evening’s final chapter includes dancing to the music of the Fundamentals, performing live in this unforgettable location. Complimentary valet parking will be available and our gala committee is working with hotels and transportation options. We look forward to sharing these details with you in our event invitation.
2008 Wine Auction
The Sequoia Hospital Foundation’s tenth annual Wine Auction, a premier event on the San Francisco Peninsula, was held on June 26, 2008 on the lavish grounds of San Francisco Giant’s co-owner Susan Burns’ private Atherton estate. 2008 event chairs Richard Sponholz and Bob Franceschini delivered an elegant event.
The afternoon began with guests enjoying fine wines paired with hors d’oeuvres crafted by premier local chefs, positioned throughout the estate grounds and passed during the cocktail hour. Musicians added to the ambiance of the garden reception as guests reviewed the auction lots of premier wines and bid on exquisite silent auction packages.
The atmosphere built to a pre-sunset live auction followed by sensational desserts and a glass of port. Preeminent local auctioneer Frank Bizzarro and his team led the bidding.
